After six years of dedication to the building campaign, along with a major fire and a global pandemic, Lutherwood is finally filing for the permit to build the Tanager Creek Retreat Lodge!
In 2019, we launched the Bridge to the Future Building Campaign. Initially planned as a $2.5 million campaign to build the retreat lodge and an outdoor pavilion, the 2019 Lodge fire forced Lutherwood to grow to a $4.5 million campaign, which included a new dining hall and a new bathhouse.
With over $3.2 million already raised, Lutherwood has completed the first two buildings, the dining hall and the upper cabin restrooms. AND they are all paid for. Thank you to everyone who has been so generous to this effort this far!
We are so close! The Retreat Lodge is the last building in the campaign and is Lutherwood’s heart and soul. The Retreat Lodge has been the vision for many years, and with your help, it will happen. Lutherwood needs to raise the final 1 million dollars in 2025 in order to meet construction and permit timelines. There are several ways you can be part of this campaign and help Lutherwood build the retreat lodge. The number one way is to give a gift. Former Executive Director Andrea Scofield continues to meet with people to discuss their participation in Lutherwood’s campaign. Gifts of any size are welcome as one-time gifts or pledged over a 3 to 5-year period to be paid annually, monthly, or on any timeline that works best for you. Additionally, Lutherwood can receive gifts in the form of stocks and appreciated securities.
Congregations can also participate by holding a 3 to 5-week campaign in their church. Andrea Scofield can discuss all those details. Lutherwood’s goal is to engage 15 to 25 congregations and raise $300,000 or more in the congregational campaigns.
With all of us working together, the much-needed and wanted Retreat Lodge for adult guests will happen. Thank you to everyone who has participated in the campaign thus far. Lutherwood hopes for groundbreaking by the fall of 2025 and building to begin in 2026. Let’s make it happen.
