BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Any member in good standing of a Lutheran congregation or congregations of denominations that are full communion partners with the ELCA shall be eligible to serve as a Director. Employees, immediate family members of year-round employees (does not include summer staff), and immediate family members of officers and Directors of this Association cannot be Directors.

All board members are expected to:

• Attend all board meetings – we meet 4-5 times per year, some of which are by teleconference, others face to face
• Attend any task force/committees as liaison
• Participate in the community of Lutherwood in person at least once a year
• Fulfill the term of service (1-3 years)

Every board member will serve as a liaison to a committee and/or task force as appropriately assigned. Committed board members are vital to the welfare and future of camp Lutherwood. We are interested in members that are willing to think big, think with vision, and dedicated to continuing the growth and vision of the camp ministries.

1. You must act with due care in managing the affairs of the corporation
2. Act as a nonprofit corporation
3. Attend all board meetings
4. Support the mission, vision and values of the organization
5. Manage camp according to Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation
6. Support Lutherwood prayerfully and with an annual financial gift
7. Formulate and adopt camp policy
8. Oversee financial and legal matters
9. Be a positive voice for Lutherwood in the community – be a core champion
10. Be inquisitive and ask questions, be an active participant
11. Assist in conducting promotional events and activities
12. Secure congregational and individual support
13. Assist and support the Executive Director
