Our chaplains are ordained clergy, seminary interns, directors of Christian education and youth leaders with formal training. They serve in congregations in Oregon and Southwest Washington and join our camp community for a week in the summer.
Chaplains participate in life at camp by:
- Serving as a spiritual resource to the whole camp, primarily to summer staff members (aged 18-24)
- Participating in daily programs and activities and being available to support staff and campers
- Connecting and encouraging your home congregation to pray for Lutherwood’s campers, staff and programs throughout the summer
Chaplains lead staff devotions each day, help cabin groups with worship planning and even serve on dish crew. Some have performed in our variety show, led leadership sessions for CREW, climbed the rock wall and played field games with campers.
Please contact Kirsten Larsen, Outreach Coordinator, if you are interested in serving as a chaplain this summer! Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 541-998-6444.
