Rain pounded the Willamette Valley and central Oregon coast — including Camp Lutherwood — all week. Thunder, lightning, rain, wind, and (briefly) hail filled the sky throughout the beginning and middle of December.
The creek rose accordingly and wound its way through low-lying trails and ravines. The sound changed too! The gentle babble of summer became a constant rush of water.
The weather didn’t stop a group of more than 100 students from Laurel Middle School, who visited camp to release salmon fry in the creek. Teachers led them to a spot near the Well that they’ve used before. It was pretty neat to see so many excited students walking through the back field on the newly completed road.
Hope you’re staying warm and dry through these wet and chilly times!
