‘Tis the season for fresh evergreens, homemade treats, and big red bows.
The lodge is decked in lights (as usual), but poinsettas and just-cut boughs added some Christmas spirit! There’s a peppermint-striped bow on the office door and red-and-green lights on the porch. Cards have been signed, cookies have been baked — and the air feels rather festive around camp.
The second weekend of Advent was a particularly special one at Lutherwood.
Four generations of the Guthrie family gathered at camp Saturday to find and cut their Christmas trees together. (They purchased the event at the Oktoberfest auction.) We built a roaring fire and the cocoa flowed all afternoon. When all the trees had been hauled back to camp, everyone warmed up with some carols and a delicious meal.
Wishing you an Advent full of joy, peace, and hope!
